Taza De Cafe

I went to Taza De Cafe’s first open mic last night. It was so great! I performed 2 poems, 1 new, 1 old. I performed the English version of “Infection” and “Broken Angel”, the oldie but goodie! Look forward to “Broken Angel” Performance on the Spoken Word section of the website. I will let you know when I post it.

I loved each poet that came and read. My favorites were Bonafide Rojas, Sandra Esteves, Saratoga, and Sister of da Soul. They all had great presence and was very inspirational. I loved “Ode to Celia” by Sandra Esteves. Celia Cruz is one of my favorite Afro-Cuban Artists.

I am so excited that Taza de Cafe is going to try to have open mics every month and do an artist showcase every Sunday. I love seeing art on the wall and art in the air. The cafe felt like home and really accepted me. With great thanks, I will definitely be reading there more often

inspired,
